Hello beauties! Thanks to everyone who participated in the pre-Valentine’s Day sessions; they were so much fun. I wish I could share them ALL, but of course, I respect the privacy of my lovely clients and only share images with their permission. Here’s one of my favorites from this winter with a beautiful lady who was cool with me sharing her own V-day shoot with you all!

Valentine’s Day is either a holiday we try to ignore, or we try to celebrate and end up disappointed at feeble Hallmark-ish gifts and sentiment. To be honest, I’ve never been a big fan. Not because I am unromantic, but because it can be mind-numbingly cheesy and generic. I saw an Ellen von Unwerth exhibit this past weekend and was immediately inspired by a true artist’s ability to draw out personality we didn’t know we had and angles we haven’t seen; adding that mystery back into our visual record. Isn’t it time you shook things up a bit?

Fashion’s Night Out

The 5th floor of Takashimaya on 5th Avenue was hopping tonight. Margaret Shrum, her lingerie clients/models, and I mingled with guests and sipped on bubbly while we checked out their beautiful sleepwear collection. Thanks to Christina Natale for my very smokey eyed makeover. Photos taken BEFORE event started. More to come….

Dominique, Italian Vogue

As soon as I took this first picture I declared the title of this series to be called Italian Vogue and I think you’ll see why. I photographed Dominique at a lavish New York estate overlooking the water. She wanted a vintage feel which was in stark contrast to her dreads and modern persona. When shes not jet-setting from here to Miami, Dominique is an amazing hair and wardrobe stylist and a joy to work with. Christina, my fabulous make-up artist, and I had a blast styling and shooting her as the housekeeping staff and pool cleaners tried to remain focused on their duties around the property. Thanks to Dominique for letting me share this photoshoot with my blog followers.

A Lingerie Shower

A week or so ago I threw a lingerie shower for my sister who will be getting married in May. Here are some shots of the room and the fun stuff she received. Great way to save money – balloons and carnations. Normally I hate carnations but I bought 3.5 dozen all white carnations and about 20 white balloons. I printed out images of her growing up in a nice sepia color.
