For her wedding present to her fiance, Jen came by the studio for an editorial boudoir shoot and brought some of the cutest outfits I’ve seen! We had great light pouring in the loft windows, which made for some gorgeous photography. We hung out, played music and Jen got her make-up done while I styled some jewelry/lingerie/shoe combinations for her to try. I think one of my favorite boudoir shots to date is the first one below. Its the super simple shots that are sometimes the sexiest.

Nicole

Recently I photographed actress Nicole Pacent at the studio with the help of stylist Sara Medd and make-up artist Christina Natale. The shoot was for an ongoing calendar girls project for Autostraddle.com. As big fans of Anyone But Me, a coming of age web series Nicole stars in, we were all so excited when Nicole happily agreed to be part of this project! Not only is she gorgeous, but she’s one of the sweetest and funniest ladies around! (Also she has Angelina Jolie lips!) We had so much fun with Nicole and obviously as you can see, the camera is in love with her.

Alison

Alison came up from Philly to do a boudoir shoot in the studio. We had gorgeous window light and a fun relaxing day. We used some black swimwear in this one, just in time for summer, for a really nice editorial look. Afterwards, we all ate some Dominos pizza as a reward. Here’s a radical idea for you… boudoir is not just for girlie girls. (Its actually not even just for girls, but I’ll get to that eventually.) Sarah Croce is a beautiful actress/rugby player/pastry chef who my team and I had the joy of styling and photographing in my new studio. She’s also featured as Miss April on my photoblog on Autostraddle.com!

Valentine’s Day is either a holiday we try to ignore, or we try to celebrate and end up disappointed at feeble Hallmark-ish gifts and sentiment. To be honest, I’ve never been a big fan. Not because I am unromantic, but because it can be mind-numbingly cheesy and generic. I saw an Ellen von Unwerth exhibit this past weekend and was immediately inspired by a true artist’s ability to draw out personality we didn’t know we had and angles we haven’t seen; adding that mystery back into our visual record. Isn’t it time you shook things up a bit?
