Happy Halloween! For the past few days, I have had the pleasure to photograph before and after one of my favorite shows, Punchdrunks’s New York based Sleep No More, an interactive play that takes place on 6 levels of the McKitterick Hotel. Its MacBeth meets Hitchcock’s Rebecca, silent theatre meets interpretive dance meets unbelievable set design… While I can’t post images from inside the show (you need to see it in person!), here are some favorites from the past few nights of a special pre-show outside, images from the bar “Manderley”, and the amazing and sexy after-parties held special for the weekend of Halloween.
This is probably one of the hardest places I have had to photograph. Inside much of the space you cannot use flash. Things move quickly and for those of you who know camera-talk, you are shooting at 6400 ISO wide open at 1.2 much of the time. The lighting is crazy and there is fog everywhere! Not ideal conditions, but when you hit it just right, you can capture the amazing look and feel of the show. Enjoy!

I had the pleasure of once again photographing all-female, always-funny comedy troupe Candy Slice. You can follow the group’s performance schedule on their facebook page. More on the group and more photos can be found here.

My photographs from a Save the Children event with Julianne Moore were published in next month’s InStyle magazine! Julianne, who is an art ambassador for Save the Children, is a beautiful person inside and out and I was honored to be present to witness this heart-warming event. Read more about it in February’s issue of InStyle magazine!

I can’t wait until I can post a whole lot of Janelle Monáe!! I’m obsessed with her music and her look. I was grateful I could be at her release party to take some fun live shots as well.

Today I shot the super funny and adorable comedian Margaret Cho at Logo at MTV. Logo is sponsoring Margaret’s tour promoting her album “Cho Dependent”. We had the pleasure of seeing her show in Provincetown this summer and loved every second of it.

I am not gonna die because I failed as someone else. I am gonna succeed as myself. – Margaret Cho

A few shots of the amazing legend that is Kylie Minogue taken during an interview with Logo. (Don’t judge me based on these pre-lit for video snapshots!) I was so excited to be there though that I had to share these. Doesn’t she look amazing? Check her out being adorable and hosting PopLab on Logo!
Maybe someday I’ll do an actual photo shoot with her! Lets make that happen!

These are unbelievable, Robin! I’m going to see the show for the first time in December… But now I might try to get to an earlier show to see all this fuss
These are absolutely incredible shots. What amazing eye candy. Can’t wait to see the show again in a few weeks.
I love your wedding and engagement photos…but these are fabulous.
Absolutely incredible! Do you have other photos from the Halloween events?
wow!!!!
